Welcome to the August edition of The Art of Service magazine.
Half of the business world is heading into a new fnancial year, which means new goals, targets, contracts, and budgets. The other half are in the throes of maintaining their existing contracts and trying to eek out their budgets for another 4 months, while continuing to meet targets and achieving their goals. It is a challenging time, wherever you are in the world, combating the usual hurdles service management brings as well as dealing with a lingering GFC..
So, to assist you in the challenge, this month we are focusing on how to manage services more efectively with a focus on service level management and service level agreements. In addition, designing and negotiating contracts is a task that forms part of many role descriptions but, with so many pitfalls to avoid, it is difcult to know where to begin! ‘Contracts, Tips & Hints’ on page 2 provides some thoughtful guidance to support you through the process. Another challenge in any industry is keeping up with the next new ‘money-saving’ trend, this month we have a great article on page 12 that discusses Cloud Computing and whether it can really reduce your budget.
Don’t miss out on our competition this month to become our next star contributor to the magazine. Check the back for details.
If you have any questions regarding this month’s issue, don’t be afraid to send us an email.
